Craftworker Training & Certification
A Master Trainer is an individual who has been certified to train craft instructors in accordance with the NCCER Instructor Certification Training Program (ICTP) for Master Trainers and is authorized to train Craft Instructors. Master Trainers must be trained and certified directly by NCCER.
What are the requirements of a Master Trainer Candidate?
- Approved by an NCCER Sponsor
- Two years of experience as a trainer, instructor or educator, or
- An Associate's Degree or higher in education, a construction-related field, industrial arts or a similar field from an accredited post-secondary institution, or
- A minimum of two years of experience at a supervisory level or higher in the construction or maintenance industry.
To be certified as a Master Trainer for Carolinas AGC, you must successfully complete the NCCER Instructor Certification Training Program (ICTP) for Master Trainers, conducted by the NCCER.
You may not “test out.”
To retain your certification you must:
- Be endorsed by or employed by an approved NCCER sponsor, and
- Teach or co-teach the ICTP at least once every three years, or re-attend the ICTP for Master Trainers.
- Or maintain an Active Status as an Accreditation Visitor.
- Fill out a Form 100 for every Instructor Trainer Course taught.
